The EHS Software Workshop for Colleges and Universities built on last year’s successful workshop on the use of hand held devices for managing environmental, health and safety information. This year’s event drew nearly 100 participants representing more than 40 colleges and universities.

The highlights of the workshop included:

Case studies from ten different colleges and universities
Presentations by EH&S, IT, and risk management professionals
A description of the “EcoCampus” project in the United Kingdom and the EMS software solution being utilized in the project
Opportunities to meet with ten vendors of EHS and EMS software solutions
A panel discussion on chemical tracking on campus
A panel on incident management on campus
A panel on compliance management solutions, such as task tracking, lab inspections and automated training needs assessment
A panel on EMS software solutions by colleges with hands-on experience in rolling out and managing EMS project activities

We thank all the participants for an informative and productive workshop. Based on the evaluations, the workshop was a huge success. We hope viewers will find the presentations helpful in developing and implementing EHS software solutions on their campus.
