In 1997, the EPA, at the behest of their Solictor General began the process of developing a NESHAP (National Emissions Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants) for Research and Development Activities. This page is a gateway to the notes and other documents produced in this process. These include:

• An April update on previous conference calls and plans for data gathering. This also includes 2 summary tables of R&D emissions data. The first is for industrial facilities. The second contains more data, primarily from educational institutions.
• A tentative schedule for reaching a listing decision on the R&D NESHAP
• The Federal Register Notice announcing this effort
