Campus Safety, Health and Environmental Management Association. Division of the National Safety Council. Conducts an annual summer meeting and performs a benchmarking survey of higher educational institutions.

Laboratory Consortium for Environmental Excellence. Group of New England schools which meet for information sharing on pollution prevention and regulatory relations. Sponsor of New England Laboratories Project XL.

American Chemical Society:

- Division of Chemical Health and Safety. Meets twice annually and publishes a bi-monthly journal mentioned above

- Task Force on Laboratory Waste Management (LABWAM). For more than fifteen years, this group of laboratory safety experts and environmental consultants has focused on reforming the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) so that it adequately addresses the needs of educational and research laboratories.
