2006
marked another busy year of meetings, workshops and

The
2006 Advanced EMS Conference served
as the forum to present the results and case studies from the C2E2’s
nation-wide college and university EMS Benchmarking Survey.
Nearly 80 campus professionals from across the U.S. and
Canada shared in the workshop.
Two-thirds of colleges
and universities are developing or have an interest in developing
an Environmental Management System (EMS), yet EMS activities are still
in their infancy. That finding, and many others, can be found in
the 2006
Benchmark Survey of the State of Environmental Management Systems
at Colleges
and
Universities©. More than 250 individuals at 206 colleges
and universities completed the survey.
The
C2E2 is proud to make available a copy of "A
Practical Guide to Hiring a Sustainability Professional for Universities
and Colleges." This
is the C2E2's "americanization" of the original guide developed
by our partners in the United Kingdom, the Environmental Association
for Universities and Colleges (EAUC).
Please
visit the College
and University Sector Self-tracking Tool to evaluate
this useful new tool for collecting and measuring environmental
performance data on campus.

Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges, who is leading the way in integrating
sustainability and environmental management on campuses throughout
the UK.
