1.0 Environmental Policy

1.1 Is the environmental policy1 defined and endorsed by top management2?

0 1 2 3

An environmental policy does not exist.

Top management has defined and endorsed an environmental policy.

1 The environmental policy should serve as a foundation for action or as a vision statement and have the support, commitment and authority of top management.

2 For an entire campus, this can be defined as Board of Trustees, President and ‘direct reports" or other comparable decision-makers. If this assessment is performed for an organizational unit of a college or university (e.g., Engineering School), the top management should be those individuals with responsibility and authority for the operations of that organizational unit.
